THE BLACK WOMEN IN MUSIC FESTIVAL & BROADCAST

Our Story

The BLACK Women in MUSIC Festival & Broadcast Network brings together creative, cultural, and community-centered projects grounded in a belief in the power of people supporting one another. Our work is inspired in part by the legacy of Greenwood in Tulsa—known as Black Wall Street—and by what its residents built through entrepreneurship, creativity, and community.

The destruction of Greenwood is also part of that history. The National Archives describes the attack as including “the first aerial bombing of a U.S. city.” The stories preserved by survivors help us remember both what was lost and the community that existed before the destruction.

This history is an inspiration for our work today. Through the festival and broadcast network, business directory, and community media projects, we aim to create opportunities for people to share their work, be discovered, and build meaningful connections.

Explore our projects:

• FBA Foundational Black American Businesses & Directory — highlighting businesses and supporting discovery and connection.

• The TENA DuBERRY WoW Show — bringing stories, interviews, businesses, artists, organizations, and community resources to a wider audience.
